How it works

A simple, transparent framework for relationship reflection

The Love Type Test is a lightweight entertainment and self-reflection tool. This page explains what it measures, how the score is calculated, and where its limits are.

What the test measures

The test groups everyday relationship preferences into four axes. Each axis describes a direction of preference, not a value judgment.

Lead or Follow

How you tend to handle pace, initiative, and decisions.

Cuddly or Accept

Whether receiving care or offering care feels more natural.

Realistic or Passionate

How practical preferences and emotional momentum shape attraction.

Optimistic or Earnest

How you balance freedom, ease, clarity, and commitment.

How scoring works

  1. 1. Answer 26 everyday relationship questions.
  2. 2. Use the six-heart scale to show which of two options feels closer and how strongly.
  3. 3. Add the weighted answers across the four axes.
  4. 4. Select the higher side of each pair to form a four-letter code.
  5. 5. Read the matching profile as a conversation starter, not a permanent label.

The current answer weights are 3, 2, 1, 1, 2, and 3. If a pair is tied, the first side is selected. Close scores should be treated as balanced tendencies.

Important limitations

  • It is not a clinical, psychological, or scientific diagnosis.
  • It does not predict relationship success or identify a perfect partner.
  • Answers can change with context, experience, culture, and life circumstances.
  • Your own experience should take priority when a result does not feel accurate.
  • Unsafe behavior, coercion, or serious personal concerns need appropriate support beyond a personality-style quiz.
